Great question! School events on our route benefit from institutional certainty β€” schools have hundreds of students who reliably show up with cash sent by parents, so the natural sales volume covers our costs.

A private resident's event is different β€” we have no way of predicting whether 5 guests or 50 will show up, or how many will buy ice cream. The $150 fee guarantees a baseline of compensation for our staff, fuel, generator diesel, and reserved time slot regardless of how many guests purchase. It lets us say yes to smaller events without requiring the $500 minimum of a full Private Party.

Think of it this way: $150 reserves the truck for your event. Whatever guests buy on top of that is a bonus to them β€” and to us.

For nearly forty years, the familiar sound of the ice cream truck has been a part of summer in North Central West Virginia. From neighborhood streets in Morgantown to school events in Bridgeport and community gatherings in Fairmont, the Sundae Driver has brought smiles to generations of families.

That legacy remains the foundation of the business today. The trucks operate across Morgantown, Fairmont, Bridgeport, Clarksburg, and surrounding areas during warmer months, offering soft-serve cones, sundaes, milkshakes, and classic ice cream treats directly to where people gather.

In 2024, local entrepreneur Jason Cantoni acquired Sundae Driver, bringing 20+ years of restaurant & food service experience β€” including ownership of Cantoni's Pizza, food truck businesses, fairs, festivals, and concessions. Jason holds an MBA from Babson College's F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business, one of the top entrepreneurship programs worldwide.
